Lemi Shine to the rescue

This was one of our cute little ice cream sundae dishes before Lemi Shine. Hard water spots, dingy -- I hated pulling anything glass from my cupboard to use. Then Don's nephew told us about Lemi Shine. I found it in the aise with the dish washing detergents -- way up on the top shelf. I mix it half and half with my regular dish washing detergent and am so happy with the results. I've only run a couple of loads, but have it on my shopping list already to buy more. It's something I will definitely keep in supply.

Here's the 'after' picture. I just might have to have an icecream sundae party or something!

Cupcake

A weight watchers cupcake with non-weight watchers icing! Chocolate cream cheese - my favorite!! -- with a little sanding sugar added to the top for some pizzazz! For the cupcakes, use any cake mix, and add one 12 oz. can of diet soda, mix and bake. They don't raise quite as high, but they still taste just as yummy and have a LOT less calories.

Kansas City Mormon Temple

We are so excited about this temple being constructed. When we first moved to Missouri - Chicago was our temple. It was 9-9 1/2 hours away by vehicle and included an overnight stay in most instances. Back then, sometimes we could fly - one way for $29! Then the St. Louis Temple was built and it was 4.5 hours away. Next came the Winter Quarters Temple - at 2 to 2.5 hours away. And now the Kansas City Temple at about 45 minutes from doorstep to doorstep! We are thinking that an opportunity to serve as temple workers will be coming and we look forward to spring of 2012 for an open house when the public can go through and see the inside, followed by the dedication.

Click on the picture or the title to go to the link and watch the progress of the temple along with the rest of us!

Go Lean Crisp

This...................

is my new favorite cereal! Seriously! It's wonderful. It's granola - but it's not so crunchy that you feel like you're going to break a tooth eating it. It's 'crispy'! And look at all that fiber and protein. I tend to be borderline hypoglycemic, so a breakfast that doesn't spike my blood sugar then have it bottom out is important for me. This is one of those cereals that I can eat and it will hold me comfortably until lunch time. And even though it has dried blueberries and cranberries in it - I love to add a handful of fresh blueberries. I've started buying 2-3 boxes at a time when I go shopping --- I don't want to run out! You should try it!

What do you do on a snow day?

We are getting pretty good at this 'snow day' business. This is our third set of snow days...3 days this week. I'm not sure when our cul-de-sac will get plowed - can't tell if our main road has been or not - maybe one swipe down the middle - it's hard to tell from here.

So - what do YOU do on a snow day? Here's what I've been up to.
I read this. It took me a while to get into it - but it was an excellent book.

I made and decorated these!

We enjoyed some warm caramel apple cider this morning....and when we walked out of the kitchen, Dusty decided to finish off the whipped cream. She knows it's a capital offense to be on the table, so I almost didn't get the picture before she scampered off.

There has been snow of course - some of it enjoyable - and some not so much!

And I've spent a little time working on old scrapbooks. Here's a view of 'back in the day'!
