Nauvoo - and other things too!

We went to Nauvoo yesterday with our youth. I LOVE Nauvoo! I have never seen it in the spring - the flowers around the temple were amazing! The temple was incredible. We had 35 youth doing baptisms, and what a spirit there was as they did this incredible work for others.
These are in the RS Statue Garden

This is from standing in front of the temple looking west.

Some peanut butter Easter eggs I made.

My mom used to crochet all the time. She made several of these small linen tablecloths with four napkins. This one was recently given to me....it made me cry because I remembered all the hours that she would sit in her chair and work on them. It was just so nice to hold something that she had held in her hands and worked on.

Time Out For Women

I'm so looking forward to spending a couple of days with my friends at a Time Out For Women event that will be held in Omaha. If you've never been to one, the spirit there is so infectious and it truly is an uplifting experience. I wish it was happening next weekend - but I know I have something wonderful to look forward to! Enjoy this sneak peak of what it's all about.

Spring Blessings

Easter and Conference weekend! It's almost perfect - we just need to have the girls and Dustin with us and it would be. It's weekends like this when I miss my family more than ever. But I am looking forward to conference, and also to just having some time to contemplate a bit more about Easter, my Savior and all that He has done for each one of us. It's also a long weekend because of spring break. There's an Easter Egg Hunt at my school tomorrow morning and it will be fun to see who shows up for that.

And on a technical note - if I can remember how to do it - I may be changing the look of our page - I think it needs an update....we'll see how much time I have and if I can figure it out!

Enjoy this song and pictures about Christ. Happy Easter!

Our Anniversary

28 years! What fun we've had! And we had such a good time in Perry, Iowa at the Hotel Pattee with our friends Ron and Pam Walker. The pictures can't do it justice. This hotel has 40 themed rooms - each one like a miniature museum of sorts - all of them are just plain fun. The attention to detail in this place is incredible, and everytime we walked into a room, I noticed something I hadn't before. Rich mahogony and marble is throughout the whole place. A spa, a workout room and a two-lane bowling alley. Enjoy the pictures!
flowers from my hubby!

Our room! Each room had the room name and number stamped in leather.

A little something from Ron & Pam for our anniversary!

leather etching - the detail is incredible. This is on the back of the booth in the restaraunt. There is a different one above each bench seat.

This is in the quilt room. There were so many quilts. It was beautiful!

The children's room had rhymes and sayings painted on the furniture, the walls, the closets - so much fun!

This room was dedicated to the cartoonist who created Alley Oop!

Winter 2010

Here are some projects I've been working on - a fun fuzzy scarf to brighten up cold winter days, and baby blankets I made for our Stake RS Service project.

Winter in Missouri this year! Snow piling up on our steps:

This is our neighbor up the hill shoveling their very long drive-way. The snow was so wet the snowblower wouldn't handle it.

This one is Don at his office in January with all the snow we got then.
